Something to be proud of

So the twins keep growing.  They are walking , going every where, tasting every thing they can get their hands on.  

I wish someone else could see that whilst I worry about work, the future, health, these guys are worrying about getting to see the video they have seen so many times before.  

I also wish I would not worry about not being shown appreciation by neighbourghs, colleagues or family.  As a father I have these ideas of what should count as being a good father.  The list includes economic success, academic recognition and stress free life.  

In reality these things have happened to me at different times, but not now.  Yes, we can ford to live how we live.  Not exactly what I had imagined at 44 years of age.  But factor in living in another country, with a work trajectory, academic papers being published with colleagues, others in the pile, some time to spare on the week ends, and I get a ful life,one that includes three more people to where it with.  

Pride should come after humility settles in and lets you appreciate what you really have.
